[ Who We Are | Statement of Belief | Say hello to the MM Family ] What we BelieveWhat people believe is the foundation or cornerstone of their lives. Our beliefs, if true, should exist as the central motivator of our everyday actions. What Christians talk about, they should also do! The Bible (both the Older and Newer Testaments) forms the sole basis of our belief. It is the uniquely inspired word of God, without error. These scriptures are our final authority in life. The Bible teaches that there is one God, who has revealed himself as a Trinity of persons in a Unity of substance, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. These are three distinct and eternal persons, yet one God. We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived in the Virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death for the sin of man, was buried, and rose from the dead demonstrating his ability to give us life also. He ascended into heaven where he is now our mediator and advocate. The Holy Spirit takes up residence in every believer at the point where they commit their lives to Jesus Christ and he places them into the body of Christ (called the church). He guides, instructs, and empowers them for godly life and service. We believe that we, as individuals, though created in the image of God and capable of reason and relationship, have defied God by going our own way. Though created as humans to be in a relationship with God, this action has separated us from God. Only by faith in the sacrificial death of Christ and by repentance for going our own way, can we as individuals, reestablish a relationship with God. This can be so because of his grace, or gift of life. It cannot happen by our human effort. Individuals that desire this relationship must consciously ask Christ into their lives by repenting of the direction they have gone without God (the Bible defines this as sin), and asking God to enter their lives and make them into the person He wants them to be. The Church, known in the Bible as the Body and Bride of Christ, consists of all such persons who through faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated (Born again) by the Holy Spirit. We believe in the bodily, immanent and premillennial return of our Lord Jesus Christ to consummate history here on earth. Humans will be bodily resurrected from the dead, the saved to eternal life, and the lost to eternal separation from God. The church's role is to bring glory to God, recognizing him as our source of life. It is also the church's role to equip and serve believers. We believe that all those who name Christ as Savior and Lord should live a life that speaks of their commitment to a Holy God, a life of mercy and compassion for others.
Please call or write us if any of these points of belief need clarification. We realize that theological language can be difficult to understand. [ Who We Are | Statement of Belief | Say hello to the MM Family ]
